What do bed bugs look like?
Adults are small, brownish insects, just under a ¼” long and are relatively flat. They are nearly as wide as they are long, and oval in shape. Immature bed bugs (nymphs) resemble the adults but are much smaller and lighter in color. Newly hatched nymphs are translucent and are no bigger than a pinhead (1 mm).
Avoiding the purchase of second-hand furniture and bedding can decrease the possibilities of introducing bed bugs into your home. Often times when you notice a mattress couch or recliner sitting out by the road it likely has live bed bugs.
Upon discovering a possible bed bug infestation, immediately contact Advanced Pest Elimination for a free evaluation of the problem. You should avoid discarding bedding and mattresses as this can spread the infestation throughout the house. Discarding old furniture and purchasing new furniture without treatment is not recommended if bed bugs are present. Bed bugs will infest the new furniture unless a professional treatment has been done. Also, avoid attempting to resolve the issue yourself as improper treatment could spread the problem throughout and increase costs to eliminate the problem. So often, we go to homes and homeowners have tried the do it yourself products and have no success. The “bed bug bombs” or “diatomaceous earth” dusts only push bed bugs into voids or different areas of your home, causing the problem to only become worse.
Our “Heat Remediation Combination” treatment process delivers controlled, evenly distributed heat throughout your home for several hours with high volumes of air movement. During a typical heat treatment process, internal temperatures are slowly raised throughout to a lethal target temperature of 120°F to 140°F and then held for several hours. This allows the heat to penetrate into cracks, crevices, and hard-to-reach places effectively and kills the entire life cycle of bedbugs, from eggs to adults. Temperatures are monitored and recorded remotely from numerous temperature sensors placed strategically throughout the treatment sites. We then apply a product to give you protection after we leave. We then provide a follow up inspection/application to inspect and ensure you are bed bug free. This types are treatments are popular for the “one and done” elimination solution.
Conventional “Liquid” Treatment
